The Blessed Virgin Mary is the pinnacle of Creation. She is the "tower of ivory" that is "hard to climb for human thoughts," the "depth undiscernible even for the eyes of angels"; she is the "mystic rose" and "Ark of the New Covenant"; she is our everything, Our Lady. Aside from devotion to the Lord Himself in the Most Holy Sacrament, devotion to Our Lady is the best and surest means of sanctification and salvation that we have. And consecration to the Blessed Mother is the most perfect means of devotion to her.St. Louis de Montfort's True Devotion to Mary formalized the practice of consecrating one's whole self, with temporal and spiritual goods, to Our Lady. In this short booklet, Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Fr. Nicholas Norman shows Christians both why and how to do this according to a simple and practical method. Most of all, Fr. Norman shows why this practice is becoming more and more important in our times, and how devotion to Our Lady is an apocalyptic witness during the last stages of Christianity, according to Our Lady herself in her message at Fatima. Let this book guide you, then, on the way of true devotion and total consecration, so that we may say to Our Lady, "I am all yours, O Blessed Mother of God!"

Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary

4. The Interior Castle: Conforming Ourselves to God’s Will

How do I live a truly good life? That, in many respects, is the question we all must ask ourselves and answer. As always, even in our post-Christian society, Christ is the answer, and we discover him in the New Testament.Drawing heavily from Pope Saint John Paul IIs encyclical Veritatis Splendor and other trusted sources, author Václav Rajlich identifies four pillars of ethical reasoning: prohibited acts, prescriptions, priorities, and providence/grace (the 4Ps) to show how readers can practically use these teachings to live a good life.Accessible, practical, and firmly rooted in the teaching and life of Christ, How to Live a Good Life: Following New Testament Ethics is an essential guidebook both for contemporary Christians as well as sincere seekers looking to answer that most fundamental of questions.

How to Live a Good Life

Day 217: Volume 3, Book 6, Chapter 1, Paragraphs 322-326

In the stillness of her cell in fourteenth-century Norwich, the anchoress Julian&mdash;one who withdrew from the world to live in prayer and solitude&mdash;received sixteen revelations that unveiled the inexhaustible mercy of God. Her visions of Christ&rsquo;s Passion, His tenderness, and the assurance that &ldquo;all shall be well&rdquo; became one of the most radiant treasures of Christian mysticism. Dear Reader, within these pages you will encounter a soul who found in seclusion not escape, but communion&mdash;a woman who beheld divine love as the deepest reality of existence. Her meditations draw the heart toward peace, where faith is stripped of fear and suffering is remade in grace. Across the centuries, Julian&rsquo;s voice still speaks with quiet authority: that God&rsquo;s love is nearer than our breath, surer than our sorrows, and strong enough to make all things well.

He guides us to the knowledge that we are all called to the devout life. True devotion to God, as St. Francis de Sales points out, adorns every vocation. Additionally, St. Francis will explain that the devout life is a choice worthy for its own sake: ;And our blessed Lord Himself assure[s] us that a devout life is a lovely, a pleasant, and a happy life.;

The Classics Made Simple: An Introduction to the Devout Life

Fr. Edward Looney reads from chapter 18 of book 7 and then comments on the Basilica of Our Lady of the Pillar and how we can foster a devotion to her today. &nbsp;

Day 319: Volume 4, Book 7, Chapter 17, Paragraphs 353-364

“Be not anxious, stand not to dispute with thy thoughts, nor to answer the doubts which the devil suggests. But believe the words of God, believe his saints and prophets, and the wicked enemy will fly from you. It is often very profitable to the servants of God to suffer such things, for the devil tempts not unbelievers and sinners whom he already surely possesses, but the faithful and devout he, in many ways, tempts and molests. Go forward, therefore, with a sincere and undoing faith. And with a humble reverence, approach this Sacrament. And whatsoever you are not able to understand, commit securely to almighty God. For God deceives thee not, but he is deceived who trusteth too much in himself.”Episode 17 of The Commentaries dives into the conclusion of Book Four of The Imitation of Christ, chapters 15-18.GET THE BOOK - USE COUPON CODE COM25 FOR 25% OFF:<ul><li>The Imitation of Christ Deluxe Edition: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/44C8ymi">https://bit.ly/44C8ymi</a></li><li>TAN Classics Deluxe Set: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/41iTlUh">https://bit.ly/41iTlUh</a></li><li>The Imitation of Christ Paperback Edition: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/41ayCC9">https://bit.ly/41ayCC9</a></li><li>The Imitation of Christ Zipper Edition: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/3LHzHvm">https://bit.ly/3LHzHvm</a></li><li>My Imitation of Christ Pocket Edition: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/3NMXyMK">https://bit.ly/3NMXyMK</a></li></ul>The Commentaries is a podcast series from TAN in which you’ll learn how to read and understand history’s greatest Catholic works, from today’s greatest Catholic scholars. Fr. Edward Looney reads from chapter 20 of book 6 and then comments on the wounds and pain of Jesus and Mary's experience of the passion.&nbsp;

Day 253: Volume 3, Book 6, Chapter 20, Paragraphs 624-632

Fr. John Laux's timeless text thoroughly explains the philosophical and theological foundations of Catholic doctrine regarding human action, free will, the Natural Law, sin, virtue, conscience, and duties to God and neighbor. Catholic Morality provides high schoolers with a firm understanding of the principles of Catholic morality, covering a wide range of topics ranging from doubts against the Faith to the evangelical counsels. Students will grasp that the basis of all divine law is the reality that God is the True, the Good, and the Beautiful. Recommended for 10th grade students enrolled in TAN Academys Pre-Conciliar Theology.

Catholic Morality

Are we truly striving for heaven or merely avoiding hell?The human hearts greatest longing is to see God as He is. And yet, many people simply want to escape hells pain, or even worse, they follow our disordered fallen nature in choosing sinful pleasures. Our Lord said the road to heaven is narrow, but the road to hell is wide (see Matt. 7:13). Is choosing the road to heaven merely wanting to avoid pain, or is it actively pursuing the greatest good beyond imagining?Do we choose the good because we strive to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, or do we choose the good merely because we fear hell?God never leaves us alone in these choices. Indeed, He sends us His grace, but—to help us cooperate with that grace and fight valiantly—He also sends spiritual warriors and guides, of whom one of the greatest is Saint Thomas Aquinas.In Angelic Virtues and Demonic Vices, Saint Thomas guides us on how to pursue our true celestial homeland while avoiding running to a false heaven. He outlines the various vices, and their forty plus daughters, and details how to conquer them.After reading this work, you will not only desire to become a saint because you will see how hideous vice truly is but also see how splendid virtuous living for God is.

Angelic Virtues and Demonic Vices

"With two wings a man is lifted up above earthly things,” Thomas à Kempis writes in The Imitation of Christ. “That is, with simplicity and purity. Simplicity must be in the intention, purity in the affection. Simplicity aims at God, purity takes hold of him and tastes him. If you intend and seek nothing but the will of God and the prophet of thy neighbor, you shall enjoy eternal liberty.”Fr. Robert Nixon elaborates on this idea in episode five of The Commentaries: The Imitation of Christ. “We can often find our lives and our minds and souls made complicated by the multitude of things we need to deal with,” Fr. Nixon says. "By the complex web of relationships in which we find ourselves. But he is telling us to try to keep ourselves simple and to keep life simple. And I think most people recognize that this is very useful advice."Episode five of The Commentaries dives into Book Two of The Imitation of Christ, chapters 1-6.GET THE BOOK - USE COUPON CODE COM25 FOR 25% OFF:<ul><li>The Imitation of Christ Deluxe Edition: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/44C8ymi">https://bit.ly/44C8ymi</a></li><li>TAN Classics Deluxe Set: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/41iTlUh">https://bit.ly/41iTlUh</a></li><li>The Imitation of Christ Paperback Edition: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/41ayCC9">https://bit.ly/41ayCC9</a></li><li>The Imitation of Christ Zipper Edition: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/3LHzHvm">https://bit.ly/3LHzHvm</a></li><li>My Imitation of Christ Pocket Edition: <a rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank" href="https://bit.ly/3NMXyMK">https://bit.ly/3NMXyMK</a></li></ul>The Commentaries is a podcast series from TAN in which you’ll learn how to read and understand history’s greatest Catholic works, from today’s greatest Catholic scholars. 17. The Interior Castle: The Very Center of The Soul

Fr. Edward Looney reads chapter 27 of book 4 and then comments on the Holy Innocents and Maria of Agreda's mode of receiving revelations. &nbsp;

Day 177: Volume 2, Book 4, Chapter 27, Paragraphs 672-680

Fr. Edward Looney finishes reading chapter 1 of book 3 and reflects on Mary&#39;s knowledge of creation given to her on this first day of preparation for the Annunciation.

Year 3, Day 95: Volume 2, Book 3, Chapter 1, Paragraphs 9-15

What do we know about Jesus and Mary? For starters, what the evangelists recorded in the gospels. Throughout Church history, mystics have received visions of the life of Jesus and Mary and recorded them as biographies. One such mystic was Venerable Maria of Agreda who authored The Mystical City of God, a four-volume book totaling more than 2,000 pages. It's a daunting task to read, but Marian theologian Fr. Edward Looney has partnered with TAN Books to read it in a year. Join him as he reads and provides reflections daily.

The Mystical City of God in a Year

In today's age of disbelief and skepticism, even many Christians no longer believe in angels—or in devils. Yet the existence and importance of spiritual, bodiless powers is one of the most basic and prominent features of both Sacred Scripture and Sacred Tradition. Creation abounds with heavenly guardians and patrons who pray on our behalf and guide us in life—and with demons who desire our ruin through temptations and deceits.Here, in Angels and Devils, TAN mainstay author Joan Carroll Cruz provides an excellent summary of what the Church has been revealed about angels and devils. She expounds upon the traditional definitions and delineations of the angels and devils and provides practical advice about their relevance in all of our lives, from prayers and devotions to good angels to warnings about the New Age and occult connections to the devils.Joan Carroll Cruz, a native of New Orleans, was a tertiary of the Discalced Carmelite Secular Order. Her many books include The Incorruptibles, Relics, Secular Saints, Prayers and Heavenly Promises, Miraculous Images of Our Lady, Miraculous Images of Our Lord, and many others.
